With the first half of the regular season now behind them, the Cedar Valley CourtKings set their eyes on the second half with eight games remaining in the 2018 campaign. That second half kicks off this Saturday night as the CourtKings (8-0) play host to the Rochester Roadrunners (3-5) at 7:30pm at the Cedar Valley SportsPlex.
This will be the second of the three meeting this season between the two squads. The CourtKings defeated the Roadrunners back in the second week of the season by a final score of 118-91. Since that meeting on April 22, the CourtKings have remained unbeaten on the season and sit at the top of the Northwest Division, while the Roadrunners have only managed to win three of their first eight games to sit in fifth in the division.
In their last meeting, Lemuel Doe scored 24 points against the CourtKings defense while Perrell Williams scored 13. In the last week the Roadrunners also added a new piece to their offense as they traded Josh Gonnigan to the Minnesota Broncos in exchange for Nathaniel Glidewell in an attempt to jump start their shooting.
Doors to the Cedar Valley SportsPlex will open at 6:30pm for the 7:30pm tip off. It is also Dupaco and College Night. Dupaco members can get into the game for half price with their Dupaco membership card, while college students can get in for $5 with their school ID. Joel Wauters will also have the online radio call at cvcourtkings.com, with the pregame show beginning at 7:20pm.
