NAIA All-American Signs with the CourtKings

The Cedar Valley CourtKings have added another player to the 2016 roster. Alexander Houston, a 6′ 5″ forward/center has signed to play this season with the CourtKings. Houston just completed his senior year at Mt. Mercy University in Cedar Rapids. He was named a 3rd team NAIA All-American after helping lead Mt. Mercy to the sweet 16 of the NAIA National Championship tournament. Alex was also named to the 1st team all conference team for the Association of Independent Institutions conference. At their conference tournament in late February Houston was named the MVP along with being named to the All Tournament team.

On a 26-8 Mt. Mercy team this year Houston was the leading scorer at 15.3 points per game and their leading rebounder at 5.7 per contest. His head coach at Mt. Mercy this year was Aaron Jennings.

“Alex is another great addition to our team.” Stated CourtKings Owner/GM Gary Rima. “He just finished up an outstanding college career at Mt. Mercy and we are excited to have him in a CourtKings uniform! He is a leader and team player and brings it at both ends of the floor!”

He played his high school basketball in Chicago at Chicago Hope.
