Game time this Saturday in Chicago is 3:30pm. John Leo will have all the play by play action with pregame coverage to start at approx 3:15.
The game is being played at the Russell Park Fieldhouse on S. Shore Drive in Chicago. The CourtKings put their perfect 2-0 record on the line as Chicago looks for their first win of the MBL season after dropping a 102-96 game at Minnesota last Saturday. “This is a very good Chicago team,” stated Owner/GM Gary Rima. “They played in the ABA all winter and made it to the Sweet 16 of the ABA playoffs. Recce Carter recruits some of the top talent in the Chicago area and has sent numerous guys overseas over the past 2 seasons.”
The CourtKings will be without the services of 6′ 8″ center Johnny Jackson who suffered a knee injury in the CourtKings win Sunday night over the Minnesota Broncos. “We hope it isn’t a season ending injury for Johnny and will know more later this week,” said Rima.
The early MRI results showed no ACL or LCL damage but a slight fracture of the knee and muscle tear appear to be the extent of the injury. Jackson could be out 2 to 6 weeks.
The Cedar Valley CourtKings next home game is Sunday April 23 when the Lincoln Lions come to Waterloo for a 7:30pm tipoff. It will be a ‘College Night’ special with the CourtKings. All college students showing their college ID at the door get in for just $5. Doors open at 6:15pm for season ticket holders and 6:30pm for walk up ticket sales!
