Kings journey to T.C. Elite this weekend

After dominating the Minnesota Lakers in the second half last weekend at home, the Cedar Valley CourtKings (5-1) return to the road this Mother’s Day weekend for a one game road trip against the reigning Midwest Basketball League champions T.C. Elite (4-1).

It was last June when the CourtKings last played on the Elite’s home floor, where Cedar Valley saw their league record 38 game winning streak snapped. While the CourtKings took care of business against T.C. Elite a few weeks later at home, the two squads met one more time in the postseason, where the Elite pulled off a narrow 108-106 victory in the playoff semi-final round en route to a league championship over the Fort Wayne Vision.

With Latrell Love leading the charge, the Elite have jumped out to a quick 4-1 start, but have seen their last three wins come only by single digits margins. In their April 20 meeting with the Iowa Elite Pro, T.C. Elite snagged a tight 110-104 victory at home, before grabbing an eight point win at Rochester a week later, 118-110. T.C. Elite enters this weekend’s game after a 124-120 home win over the Green Bay Area Titans.

For the CourtKings, they look to extend their winning streak to five games after their 116-84 home victory over the Lakers in Waterloo last Sunday. Six CourtKings scored in double-digits figures in the win over Minnesota, with Aundre Hicks’ 28 points leading the way. Emeche Wells notched 18, Jared Sutherland 16, Brady Burford and Anthony James 15 each and Jaree Crawford 12 points.
