Former Panther Eglseder to play for the CourtKings

The Cedar Valley CourtKings announce a big signing…literally! 7′ 1″ Jordan Eglseder has signed a player agreement to play this coming season for the CourtKings. The former UNI Panther player was a member of the UNI sweet 16 team in 2010.

After his college career ended Eglseder went to the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament where the top senior basketball players are invited to play before NBA and other pro scouts.

JordanEgleseder-HoustonRocketsEglseder did not get drafted in the NBA DRAFT that year but did end up signing a free agent multi year contract with the Houston Rockets. After suffering an injury he was placed on waivers.

In 2011 he played for Detroit in the NBA summer League in Las Vegas in 2011.

Eglseder was a member of two different NBA-D league teams. He played a few games with the Maine Red Claws and then the Rio Grande Valley Vipers but injuries hampered his career again.

Eglseder played as a true freshman at UNI after graduating from Bellevue Marquette High School in Bellevue, Iowa. Jordan started every game his senior year averaging nearly 12 points and over 7 rebounds per game that season. Jordan had a big hand in UNI basketball’s biggest win in school history when UNI beat #1 ranked Kansas in Oklahoma City to advance to the schools first ever sweet 16 where they lost to Michigan State in St. Louis.

“This is a huge signing for our team,” stated team Owner and GM Gary Rima. “Jordan is healthy again and wants to try and play again and make a comeback in his pro basketball career. We are excited he chose us as the team to continue to chase that dream and to play the game he loves!”

The CourtKings season opener is Saturday April 23 at Sioux City against the Sioux City Hornets at 6pm. The Cedar Valley CourtKings home opener is the Cedar Valley SportsPlex on Sunday night May 15 at 7:30pm against the Minnesota Broncos out of St. Paul, Minnesota.

Season Tickets are now on sale at just $45 for the 7 game home schedule. You can buy them online at, pick up a season ticket brochure at numerous places around the Cedar Valley or email us at and we will mail you one!
