Ellison is the newest CourtKing

The Cedar Valley CourtKings have added Wakefield Ellison to their team. After the tragic death of starting point guard Rashad Carrington just over 2 weeks ago the CourtKings felt they needed to bring in another player and 6′ 6″ Ellison got the call.
Wakefield Ellison is from Ashville, NC and started his college basketball career at East Carolina. After two years there he transferred to Winston-Salem State and had a good finish to his college playing days there.
“Wake is a guy who can play inside and out. He is a good 3 point shooter and can also score off the dribble and by taking it to the basket”, stated CourtKings Owner/GM Gary Rima. “In his first two games with us he has show us a lot and I think will just get better and better the more he plays for Coach Hughes and gets to know his teammates even better!”
Ellison had his best game to date in the CourtKings Sunday May 22nd win over the Wisconsin Storm 104-76. He got his first career start as a CourtKing and poured in 19 points and grabbed 7 rebounds.

The Cedar Valley CourtKings play at St. Paul, Mn this Saturday at 1:00pm against the Minnesota Rangers. Both teams are 2-2 in the MBL West. You can see Wakefield and the rest of the CourtKings back in action at home on Saturday night June 4th at 7:30pm when they play back in the Cedar Valley SportsPlex, 300 Jefferson St, Waterloo.
