CourtKings Travel to the Lions

WATERLOO, Iowa—After a heartbreaking loss on the road, the Cedar Valley CourtKings are back in action this Saturday, traveling to the Lincoln Lions. Action is slated to tip-off at 6 p.m.

The CourtKings loss 101-98 to the league-leading Minnesota Rangers.  Five CourtKings scored in double figures led by Marvin Singletons’ 24 points. Anthony James and Lamar Wall scored 15 each. Wall would have a double-double in this one as he also led the team with 10 rebounds. Alex Coleman added 11 points and Andre Norris would get 10.

Wakefield Ellison, who missed the game due to injury, and Gage Heffernan are expected to return to the court against the Lions.

Marvin Singleton will be on an exposure tour in China and miss action against the Lions.

Last Time against the Lions


The CourtKings rolled past the Lions, 111-72, when they visited on June 4. Six players for the CourtKings would end in double figures after tonight’s contest. Marvin Singleton would lead all scorers with 21 points and 14 rebounds. Andre Norris scored 17 points and Wakefield Ellison added 15. Lamar Wall had 13 points and Aundre’ Hicks and LaDon Singleton each chipped in 10.


Players to Watch

Clay Cook averages 6.6 points per game and 6.6. rebounds. Last week against the Rangers, Cook scored 8 points and 9 rebounds.

Andre Norris averages 18.9 points per game and 5.8 rebounds per game. Norris leads the team in scoring. Against the Rangers, Norris scored 10 points and 6 rebounds.


League Action

It’s a showdown in St. Paul as the league leaders, the Minnesota Rangers take on the Minnesota Broncos. Tip-time is 1 p.m. at the Oxford Community Center.  The Chicago Fury will see the Lions on Wednesday, July 20 in Lincoln.

In the East, the Indiana Fury visit the Hamilton Heroes on July 16. Action is set to tip-off at 5 p.m. The Indiana Dream try and take on the Dayton AirStrikers at 7 p.m. that night.
