The Cedar Valley CourtKings have announced their schedule of games for the upcoming 2019 Midwest Basketball League season.
With league expansion and divisional realignment, the CourtKings will play 16 regular season games in 2019 against the opposing eight teams in the realigned MBL West Division, once at home and once on the road. The MBL West will also employ a new playoff format featuring the top eight teams from the division in a single-elimination format bracket. The winning team of the West Division bracket will advance to the MBL Final Four to face one of the other three division winners from the East, Central and South Divisions. The season will culminate with the league all-star game and championship game on July 21.
The CourtKings, who finished the 2018 campaign with a league best 15-1 record and an appearance in the MBL Semi-Final Playoff Round, will open the 2019 season up at home against the Iowa Elite Pro out of Des Moines on April 7. After a three game road trip, the CourtKings will host the Great Plains Bison out of South Sioux City, Nebraska on April 28, followed by the Minnesota Lakers on May 5 before heading to Minneapolis on May 11 to take on the defending MBL champions T.C. Elite.
June will be packed with CourtKings basketball as the team will host their final four home games to start the month, first welcoming the Rochester Roadrunners to town on June 1. The Eagan Bulldogs and Minnesota Broncos will visit on June 9 and 15 respectively before the CourtKings host T.C. Elite to close out the home schedule. The MBL Playoffs will begin July 6 and run through the championship game on July 21.
All home games will be played at the Cedar Valley SportsPlex in Waterloo and will all begin at 7:30pm on their respective dates. Game times and locations for road games will be announced at a later date. To see the full schedule, or purchase game tickets visit cvcourtkings.com.
