CourtKings preparing for MBL Select

WATERLOO—The Cedar Valley CourtKings are set to host the MBL Select Team at the Cedar Valley Sportsplex. The game is set for Saturday, June 25, with tip-off at 7:30 p.m.

The MBL Select Team comes out of St. Paul and brings players from all over the country. Carlos Emory, a 6’ 7” forward, played at Oregon and is known as “The King of Slam”. Emory played in the NBA-D League. Xavier Crawford, a 7’ center, will bring a height challenge to the CourtKings. Former North Dakota State University and Bradley players round out their roster.

The CourtKings are coming off their first road victory against the Minnesota Broncos, 129-104. The CourtKings are ranked in the Top 5 teams of the MBL Standings after Week 8.

Fans, be sure to get to the Cedar Valley SportsPlex early! Former UNI Panther, Ali Farokhmanesh will be at the game signing autographs.

 

Players to Watch

 

Former UNI Panther standout, Anthony James scored 14 points and had 7 assists in last week’s win against the Broncos. James averages 10.9 points per game, 3.9 assists, and 3.4 rebounds.

 

Andre Norris is the 2 time MBL West Player of the Week. Norris led all CourtKings scores with 28 points and 8 rebounds against the Broncos. Norris averages 19 points per game and 5.7 rebounds.
