WATERLOO, Iowa—After getting to be in front of hometown fans, the Cedar Valley CourtKings are packing their bags for a road game. The CourtKings (2-2) will take on the Minnesota Rangers (2-2) in St. Paul on Saturday, May 28 at 1 p.m.
The CourtKings are riding a two-game winning streak, having impressive wins over the Minnesota Broncos and the Wisconsin Storm. The Rangers are on a two-game losing streak, having lost to current league leaders the Chicago Fury and the Chicago Clovers.
Strong defensive efforts have been a key to the winning streak, currently held by the CourtKings. “Defense wins games,” said guard Andre Norris.
Marvin Singleton led the team in rebounds and assists, with 8 rebounds and 10 assists and contributed 3 steals during the contest to help aid the defense.
We’ve played some really good basketball these last two games, “ said Owner/GM Gary Rima. “(We) now have to take that effort and focus on the road if we are going to get our first road win. The Rangers are a very good team and tough on their home court.”
