CourtKings Prep for Final Home Game

WATERLOO, Iowa—Saturday night is the final time this season that the Cedar Valley CourtKings will take the court at home.  The CourtKings play host to the Minnesota Broncos at 7:30 p.m. in the Cedar Valley SportsPlex.

The second place CourtKings are coming into Saturday’s game on a 2-game winning streak. The Broncos are coming in off a 2-game losing record.

The CourtKings faced the Chicago Fury on July 24 at home, winning 128-104. The Broncos lost to the Lincoln Lions, 124-116 on July 23.

Fans! Be sure to come out for Dupaco Fan Appreciation night. The CourtKings would like to thank all of the loyal fans this year for supporting the CourtKings!

2016 Miss Iowa Kelli Koch will be in attendance to sign autographs and take pictures with the fans. She will compete in the Miss America contest later this year. Miss Iowa is sponsored by LSB Insurance.

 

Players to Watch

 

Marvin Singleton returns to the CourtKings after a second tour in China. Singleton averages 17.1 points per game and 8.2 rebounds.

 

LaDon Singleton has been having good games as of late. In Sunday’s contest against the Chicago Fury, Singleton scored 12 points and 12 rebounds, earning a double-double. Singleton averages 9.2 points per game and 5.7 rebounds.

 

Joining Singleton in having good games, is Gage Heffernan. In Sunday’s game against the Fury, Heffernan scored 14 points. Heffernan averages 6.4 points per game and 5.2 rebounds.

 

Finishing the Series

This season, the CourtKings have led the series with the Broncos 2-0. The Broncos first visited the Cedar Valley SportsPlex on May 15 for the CourtKings home opener. The CourtKings won, 111-71.  A return trip to Minnesota would happen on June 18. The CourtKings traveled home with a 129-104 victory.
