The Cedar Valley CourtKings improved to 7-0 to start the season with a huge road win on Saturday afternoon in St. Paul, MN beating the previously unbeaten Minnesota Rangers 110-98. Both teams entered the game 6-0 with the CourtKings carrying the MBL’s #1 ranking into the game and the Rangers #2. The home team Rangers jumped out to a 35-19 lead at one point in the first half but the CourtKings cut the lead to 6 at the half and would come out clicking in the second half. Cedar Valley led by as many as 10 in the 3rd quarter and would lead by 6 at the end of 3 before closing out the game with a 12 point win, 110-98. It was balanced scoring that got it done in this one with Raijon Kelly leading the way with 20. Raheem Tyner had a huge 4th quarter scoring 15 and end the night with 19 points. Anthony James turned in another stellar performance and ended the game with 18 points. Alex Houston continues to play great at both ends of the floor grabbing a number of big rebounds along with scoring 18 points. Aundre Hicks added 15. The loss was not only the first of the year for the Rangers but their first home loss in two seasons in the MBL.
