Two local players have been added to the Cedar Valley CourtKings roster. Alex Landers a 6′ 1″ guard who played his high school basketball at Waterloo West and also played on the Martin Brothers AAU club joins the teams practice squad. “Alex is a young guy who has a lot of ability and we are excited to have him be part of our team and organization. He is already pushing our guys in practice and as he learns the system will just get better and better,” said Owner/GM Gary Rima.
The other new addition is Queshawn Roby. Roby is a 5′ 10″ guard who also played at Waterloo West High School and then went on to play at Itasca Community College. “Que is fitting in nicely with this team and his quickness and shooting ability will give him a chance to contribute in his first season as a CourtKing,” Rima said.
Two other returning players who joined the team as a practice squad player a year ago and ended up seeing game time throughout the season are Matt Craft and Ty Richardson. “Matt is the veteran on the team and is not only one of the favorites of his teammates but a fan favorite too! One of the best things I did last year was put this local lawyer on our team. He had a positive impact on our players. Ty has worked extremely hard in the off season to improve his game and he will be battling with a deep guard court for playing time again this season,” explained Rima.
