Sitting at 4-0 and first place in the Northwest Division, the Cedar Valley CourtKings have yet to play outside the confines of the Cedar Valley SportsPlex this season. That is until now. For the first time this year, the CourtKings will swap their home white uniforms for their road purples as they travel north to take on the Minnesota Broncos this Saturday, May 12 in Anoka, Minnesota.
Having played two weeks ago in Waterloo with the Cedar Valley claiming a tight 115-103 victory, the CourtKings expect another tough game on the road as they look to maintain their position atop the division. The Broncos, who sit at 2-3 after dropping consecutive games to the CourtKings and Springfield Panthers, are determined to upset the reigning champions after coming just short two weeks ago on the road. Minnesota is expected to play their intensive game through guard Kavaarian Williams, who scored 30 points in their last meeting against the Cedar Valley, and center Torrell Sutton, who added another 13. Against the Broncos, Raijon Kelly posted 26 points, seven rebounds, and four rebounds while shooting 88% from the fiel in the April 29 game victory. Brady Burford also added 26 points with his strong paint game to the winning effort. For this game, the CourtKings have also activated forward/center Alex Houston to the active roster for the first time this season.
Tip-off for the Broncos and CourtKings is scheduled for 7:00pm at the Pact Charter School in Anoka, MN. Fans can tune into the online radio call at cvcourtkings.com at 6:45pm.
