As the new calendar year begins, the Cedar Valley CourtKings are hard at work finalizing their roster for the upcoming 2018 Midwest Basketball League season. The CourtKings took another step towards opening night with the re-signing of veteran guard Aundre Hicks to the team for the third consecutive year.
The 6’ 2”, 182 pound native of the Quad Cities returns to play in the Cedar Valley with the goal of a third straight MBL championship on his mind. In 2017, Hicks led the team with six assists per game, as well as 16 points, seven rebounds, and 1.4 steals a game. While shooting 54% from the field and 37% for beyond the arc, Hicks’s presence on the court will be greatly felt. “Aundre is one of our most consistent players,” said CourtKings Owner/General Manager Gary Rima. “He had a big hand in helping us win back to back MBL titles. There is no way we win the title in 2016 and 2017 without him. We’re excited to have him back as we try to 3-peat!”
